Stress
Your Heart Health and Daily
Stress
It's important to have regular check ups for your
heart, eat sensibly and get proper exercise to not place excessive
strains on your circulatory system. Today you don't even have to
go to a health food store to find low fat healthy foods, snacks
without transfatty acids and low carb meals. There are also many
walking paths and exercise classes available conveniently now
without having to make a long journey compared to ten years ago.
We live in a fitness era and it is very much part of our culture.
When you see your doctor find out your cholesterol and hdl/ldl
ratio to be able to monitor your heart health. Obesity in kids is
very common now and kids can have cholesterol counts in the 200s .
This is good to know in terms of meal planning. When we are
stressed out at school or work we often turn to potato chips and
high fat snacks to calm ourselves. It is better instead to bring
in rice cakes, pretzels and low fat foods without transfatty acids
so you can take care of yourself.
It's easy to always feel in a time crunch between work, family
and school plus meetings and after school events. One way to
relieve stress is to set up a family activity on the weekend. It
can be as simple as everyone going to the gym together or a local
park for outside exercise. This can be a way to catch up on the
week with each other plus get in some aerobic exercise. Exercising
to a video is also an easy way to get in a workout and save time
on a gym membership. Be honest with yourself about what will
really keep you on a schedule. Do you have the discipline to
maintain a home exercise program? If not, don't beat yourself up
but turn to a gym or class outside the house.
Process your emotions by having some support group or close
friends, writing in a journal or speaking with a professional.
Don't let things build up or turn to suppression pushing them
down. Let people give you another perspective and way to view the
situations and this will help your psychological and physical
health.
